Auto freaks, who fell for a brand or vehicle, they own it no matter how. Some purchase it, but those with deep pockets if couldn’t get one (due to other reasons), they build their own. But they own one for sure. Here is a similar case. The above-pictured car was built for a man who fell for a vehicle designed and built on an Alfa Romeo drivetrain by Bertone Studios, Italy. The man wanted to buy it, but Bertone wasn’t interested to part with the masterpiece called as Carabo by Bertone.
But the man was determined to have a similar car so hired Sam Foose, the father of Chip Foose, to built one for him. Sam built this one of a kind on a 1972 DeTomaso Pantera drivetrain. The vehicle was equipped with 351 Cleveland V8 Ford engine hooked to a 5-speed stick shift and hydraulic clutch. As per the sellers worlds, this vehicle is strictly a driving car but sans air conditioning and radio, its windows are fixed and the car is too fast to handle.
The vehicle has got power Lambo-style doors that are opened and closed with hidden switches inside and out. Priced at $200,000 in 1972, this beautiful replica is up for the grab at eBay with its bid ending on 31, 2010, 06:43:01 PDT.
